If you apply a theme in a presentation, you do not need to apply any font, color or effects in addition. You can modify the theme, even you can create a new theme in PowerPoint. You can apply a theme in the time of creating a new presentation or in the existing presentation.

How to start a new presentation with a theme

You can create a presentation by applying a theme. For this follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Then Click PowerPoint from installed apps.
  3. PowerPoint Start Screen appears. Click New from the left side of the Start Screen. Available themes are shown.

When a theme is applied to a presentation, variants of the selected theme are shown in the right corner under Design Tab. Variants are several Versions or Designs of the currently selected theme. Variants give different looks in the presentation.

To apply or change the variant of a theme, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Presentation, if the file is not open.
  2. Go to Design Tab.
